Dealers under PVAT Act to come under GST by Dec 31JK Jain, Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner, Ludhiana division, has urged dealers registered under the Punjab VAT Act to collect their provisional IDs and passwords from the offices of their respective ETOs by December 21.

Jain said as per the instructions issued by the government of Punjab, all dealers who are registered under the PVAT ACT are required to migrate to GST before December 31. For this, provisional password and ID is being provided for free to all dealers. They can login into GSTNL portal by using this ID and can convert their PVAT number into provisional GST number by filling the pro forma available online.

Jain said these IDs and passwords are being provided to dealers at present and would continue till December 21. He said people have been requested to follow the schedule of alphabets and bring the requisite document as desired by the GST council.

The documents required include photocopy of PAN card, self-attested; prescribed pro forma duly filled, signed and stamped by the dealer; authority letter in case of authorisation along with a copy of special or general power of attorney and authority letter in case of advocate and chartered accountant.

Jain said dealers whose names start with alphabets R, S, T and U would be given provisional IDs and passwords on December 20, while dealers whose names start with alphabets V, W, X, Y and Z would be given provisional IDs on December 21.
