Dated 12th November, 2015

Parliament's winter session to begin November 26M Venkaiah Naidu, Parliamentary Affairs Minister said that a two-day special sitting of both Houses will be held on November 26 and November 27 to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution.

Asserting that the verdict of the Bihar Assembly polls reflect the aspirations of the people of the state and not of the nation, the government on Monday reminded the Opposition that the victory of the Mahagathbandhan could not be used as ammunition to "obstruct" the upcoming Winter Session of Parliament. He urged the opposition to allow passage for bills pertaining to the Goods and Services Tax and setting up of real estate regulators. "We hope that everyone, all political parties will cooperate in the House and help us to pass the bills which are in the interests of the country", Home Minister Rajnath Singh told reporters at a "Diwali Milan" function.

Naidu added that everyone concerned needs to "understand the Bihar verdict in right perspective". I don't see any reason his party will change its position on GST. "To interpret the result as mandate to disrupt the Parliament is questioning the wisdom of people of the state", Naidu said.
