GST is a broad issue according to Arun JaitleySpeaking in the Lok Sabha (LS) at the end of a discussion on black money, finance minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday repeated what he said earlier in the Rajya Sabha—that the government was taking steps to ensure that the money comes back and that the guilty are punished. He said the government has identified 427 account holders and efforts are on to complete tax assessment on the accounts by 31 March 2015.

He also said prosecution has already been launched in several cases and cases would be filed every week, and that names would become public. Dissatisfied with the response of the finance minister, Congress MPs staged a walk-out in the Lok Sabha as well. On the goods and services tax bill, the finance minister said, “As far as GST is concerned, we have arrived at a broad consensus; there are some issues. The next meeting of the empowered committee has been called very shortly.” He said he would try to introduce the Bill in the winter session itself.
